SAG Awards Reschedule To April 4 To Avoid Grammys Clash

The 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards has been moved once again and is now to set to air April 4, to avoid a dramatic clash with the Grammy Awards.
Last week, the Grammys bumped its March 14, despite the fact the SAGs had already claimed that date for their own ceremony, giving everyone enough notice by announcing it last July.
Now it appears that SAG-AFTRA has bowed to pressure from the conflicting date, as Variety reports the glitzy film ceremony will be broadcast on TNT and TBS at 6 p.m.
PT/9 p.m. ET on April 4.

The latest news comes after SAG-AFTRA 'reached out' to the Recording Academy last Tuesday after they they were moving the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards from January 31 to March 14 - the same exact date as the 27th Screen Actors Guild Awthe same date for the SAG Awards [on July 2] with the intent to give the greatest possible scheduling consideration for other awards shows.
We expect the same consideration from sister organizations throughout the industry.'
They continued: 'Our two organizations share members and work together effectively to advocate for artists in many areas. In an environment that is increasingly challenging for televised awards programs, we also have a mutual interest in successfully showcasing the artistry and talent of our respective memberships.'
Both awards shows - airing on TNT/TBS and CBS, respectively - are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles where an average of one in five people have come down with the coronavirus.

The Screen Actors Guild will announce this year's nominations on February 4.
The Recording Academy announced their nominations back on November 24 with Beyoncé receiving nine nods and Taylor Swift, Roddy Ricch, and Dua Lipa followed with six nods each.
